Privacy Policy

TankPlug (tankplug.com) is operated by BriskNest US LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. TankPlug is in early access; gas prices on the site are partly demo data.

What we collect

• Waitlist: your email address, the page you signed up from, and the time.
• Account: email, an optional name, and a securely hashed password if you use one.
• Sign in with Google or Microsoft: if you choose it, we receive your name, email address, whether the provider has verified that email, and an account identifier from the provider. We use these only to create or sign you in to your TankPlug account, and to link it to an existing account with the same verified email. We do not receive your Google or Microsoft password, and we do not access your contacts, files, mail or calendar.
• Settings you enter: saved stations, home and commute locations, vehicle details, and price-alert preferences.
• Price reports: the station, fuel type, price, payment type and time you submit. Approved prices are shown publicly without your name or email.
• Technical data: a session cookie to keep you logged in, and a salted hash of your IP address (not the raw address) for rate limiting and abuse prevention. Waitlist entries may store the IP address for abuse prevention.
• Location: if you tap "Use my location", your browser shares your position to find nearby stations. We do not store it.

How we use it

To run TankPlug: sign you in, show and save your preferences, review and publish price reports, prevent abuse, and email you once at launch if you joined the waitlist. We don't sell personal information or use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

Our hosting provider (GoDaddy) stores the data. Map tiles come from OpenStreetMap, and EV charger data comes from the U.S. Department of Energy; your browser contacts those services directly. Google or Microsoft handle sign-in if you choose them. We may disclose information if required by law.

Retention and your choices

We keep your data while your account or waitlist entry exists. You can ask us to delete your account, waitlist entry or price reports, or to export your data, by emailing hassan.azhar@brisknest.us. You can remove TankPlug's access in your Google or Microsoft account settings at any time.

Security

Passwords are hashed, connections use HTTPS, and admin actions are logged. No system is perfectly secure.

Children

TankPlug isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
